Family Ties
Sirius rushed into everything he did in life with eyes wide and arms open. He'd lived with the oppressiveness of the Black family for too long not to. His friends, James and Remus, had encouraged and breathed love into his life, helping him to see that being pureblood wasn't the affliction he thought it to be.
Years later, he believed it was his need for a real family that caused the Hat to place him in Gryffindor. He clung to that belief after being abandoned to a cell in Azkaban. Padfoot would see him through and take him to Harry.
