I had the wonderful pleasure of writing again with the most talented eeyore9990 in the rs_games hosted on Livejournal. It was interesting, I'll admit, the Games I mean. I couldn't have asked for a better partner and adored working with Eey. The two fics we submitted for this fest, I believe, are both very powerful and emotionally charged fics. There were two rounds for the Games and this is the second fic we submitted.

Severus called out for Remus, potion in his hand, smirk upon his face. He entered the room to wait and saw the reason for Remus's absence. He took but a moment to track the names and tried to swallow his disbelief.

The meetings, late night discussions, Remus's potion, their trust, all forgotten as Severus rushed across the grounds.

Then he was there. Severus peered through the hole in the wall of the Shrieking Shack, betrayal welling up when Remus wrapped his arms around Black.

All those late night kisses meant nothing; he drew his wand and stepped through the door.

Draco stood on the terrace, staring out at the fountain in the front lawn. The first duty as heir to the remaining Malfoy fortune was almost finished. His mother had reminded him this morning of the next one.

He turned at the sound of a noise and spotted Longbottom. The man was bent over, digging in the dirt, his back to Draco. He sat and wiped his face with the grimy shirt he wore.

Draco arched a brow, studying Longbottom's strong back as it was exposed. Perhaps an indication of a different choice would deter the sound of wedding bells.

Remus stared up at the waxing moon, knowing it wouldn't be long until Lady Luna called for the creature waiting just under his skin. He shuddered, and crossed his arms over his chest, running his hands over his biceps, as if he could ward off the sensation of Her rays bending his limbs, and shaping him into the snarling, wretched creature every month.

It was pointless, Remus well knew, to fight against the curse of the lunar cycle change. However, he maintained that he was human, regardless of what the Ministry recorded in their law books, or anyone else thought.

Severus sat in the Headmaster's chair in the centre of the Head Table and looked out over the students as they settled at their tables. The doors to the Great Hall banged opened and McGonagall led the First Years inside.

As the Sorting Hat began to sing, he glanced down to the Carrows, recalling a past Defence against the Dark Arts Professor he'd destroyed just to play his part.

Remus had understood the necessity then, but as Severus turned to gaze at the innocent faces below, he was quite certain these students wouldn't escape the new monsters in the school.

RL has been so crazy and I've been so busy here lately that I keep getting lost on which of these drabbles comms change on what days. I guess I'm going to have to make a sticky post but I am rather afraid to actually see just what I've accomplished by listing them. Does that make sense or is it stupid? Anyway... on to the drabble. It's a bit late since the new challenge is up but I am still posting it.

A Useful Education

Severus watched as Lucius Malfoy engaged Regulus Black in combat before the Dark Lord. The two pureblooded wizards parried back in forth, sharp foils clashing in a deadly duel all for the entertainment of their Lord.

Lucius and Regulus danced around one another, putting on a good performance, their very lives depending on his satisfaction. Lucius scored, slicing into Regulus's left flank, and ending the duel.

Severus cut his eyes up at The Dark Lord, studying his gleeful expression. He realized in that moment he was glad to be a halfblood and not have the formal education of a pureblood.

Perfectly Nurtured

Draco roamed the newly planted gardens, collecting the supplies needed to brew a fresh batch of Draught of Living Death. The potion was the only one strong enough to help him sleep through the nightmares that plagued him. Muffling charms only concealed so much, and Malfoys didn't resort to glamours. It wouldn't do to have the news reach the papers that he was dependent on such philtres.

He trusted no one but himself to brew his potions. That was the reason he'd had Longbottom plant so many medicinal herbs on the grounds. He knew Longbottom would nurture perfectly grown plants.

Don't know how I missed this one when the prompt was up, but in my defense all I can say is that I have a lot on my plate right now and one of these days I'll get around to posting about all the changes happening.
